The Evansville Protestant Home was founded in 1923 by the Women's Group at the United Church of Christ. These ladies felt a need in the community for a Home that would provide a Christian, home-like atmosphere for seniors where their happiness and well-being were foremost. The ladies' goal became a reality with the admission of the first resident in 1926. We have stayed true to their purpose in founded the Home and continue to focus on best our residents' needs.

When we began, Washington Avenue was a dirt road and residents grew their own food on the 10-plus acres behind the Home. Each year, pound parties were held to provide the staples needed. Evansville residents would bring sugar, flour, butter, and more to assist our residents. Because of the community's support, then and now, Evansville Protestant Home is able to provide optimal care.
