Duties and Responsibilities
- Must be experienced at cleaning with a keen eye for details
- Maintains a high level of cleanliness & safety throughout designated areas
- Ensure that all equipment is clean and in working condition at all times
- Removal of trash & soiled linens. Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds
- Must be able to work as a team member
- Solid work ethic, with initiative for quality and customer service
- Must be reliable & keep to schedule
- Must be willing to report potential maintenance issues or resident problems
Housekeepers generally have a list of duties to complete on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Daily duties may include changing linens on residents' beds. They may clean and disinfect bathrooms, washing mirrors and replenishing washroom supplies. Floor cleaning is another regular duty, which includes sweeping and mopping, as well as occasional buffing. Housekeepers are responsible for emptying trashcans and cleaning air vents. They also clean furnishings and horizontal surfaces to remove dust and dirt. When housekeepers observe potential maintenance issues or resident problems, they report them to management.
